Wondering what time of day is best for family photos?

This family session in San Antonio, Texas was the perfect example of relaxed, natural family photography. We met just before golden hour to capture warm, light filled evening full of connection, laughter, and play. My goal for every family session is to make it as stress-free and fun as possible to create timeless family moments you can treasure forever.

Why is golden hour the best time?

Golden hour, it's the magically time of day that provides soft, warm, directional lighting and provides flattering skin tones and reduces any harsh shadows. It's usually that time of day where kids can blow off energy before bed time too!

What makes golden hour better in san antonio?

Number 1 complaint in the summer time in San Antonio is....the HEAT! Golden hour is by far cooler than any mid day sun. Not to mention no squinting, weird shadows, and the beautiful Texas sunsets get their full time debut.

How does golden hour improve the look of outdoor family photos?

Connection and emotion. Something about a sunset that just makes families relaxed, glowy, and creates that cohesive tone throughout your families portraits.

But what about blue hour?

Blue hour is that moment after the sun sets and the sky buts on a SHOW! Especially in Texas. It's the time after the session ended but because I love what I do so much, I stay that extra mile because your kids have now given up all attention span and have truly let their personalities shine through. It's raw, it's real, and its's your beautiful family!

Don't believe me, see for yourself!
